Course

In Flanders Fields – From Middelkerke to Wevelgem starts in Middelkerke, in the shadow of Silt, and finishes on Vanackerestraat in Wevelgem. In the first part of the race, the peloton heads toward Veurne, where the well-known Moeren are on the programme. Then the riders make their way to Heuvelland, where they will face climbs such as the Monteberg, Baneberg, Scherpenberg, and of course, the Kemmelberg. The Plugstreets and numerous World War I monuments make this race through Flanders Fields a unique event on the calendar. On Sunday, 29 March, we will find out who will be crowned the successor to Mads Pedersen.

Programme

On Sunday, March 29, the peloton will arrive in West Flanders for a new edition of In Flanders Fields - From Middelkerke to Wevelgem. This year, the men will start from Middelkerke for the first time, with the finish still on Vanackerestraat in Wevelgem. There will be plenty to experience at both locations. Discover the programme below for a full day of racing.

This year, the Epernayplein in Middelkerke will be the place to be for the start of the men’s race. Before the battle against the wind in the polders begins, the riders will be welcomed during a lively team presentation in the shadow of Silt.

After a journey through Flanders Fields, the finish traditionally awaits on the Vanackerestraat in Wevelgem. Will we witness decisive sprints, or will solitary escapees emerge victorious in the end? Moreover, the women’s race will start from Wevelgem for the first time this year!

On Sunday, March 29, not only the professionals will give it their all during In Flanders Fields - From Middelkerke to Wevelgem, but your son or daughter can also take part in the Early Riders balance bike race. All young cycling talents born between 2020 and 2023 are welcome at the finish in Wevelgem.

All registered participants can check in at 10:45 at the finish area on Vanackerestraat. Please note that wearing a bike helmet during the race is mandatory. Results 2025

Former world champion Pedersen has claimed his third victory on the Vanckerestraat. After echelons in De Moeren, he decisively broke the race open more than 70 km from the finish. During the second climb of the Kemmelberg, he embarked on his solitary journey towards Wevelgem.
